And mind you, these are not just my words.
It is what the world’s most respected journalists have decided, putting up various photos of these places on the glossy covers of their magazines for several years in a row. For the 6th time, Algarve received the top prize in the category “Best tourist destination in Europe.”
In a comfortable car, we will drive with you along the entire west coast. And you will have the opportunity to see the beauty of this part of the Algarve, taking your most colorful selfies.
It will be a truly unforgettable day – here, at the end of the world, we will feel the wind of change, which beckoned the fearless wanderers to find out what’s next.

A trip to the very south-western part of Europe. It will be a truly unforgettable day – here, at the end of the world, we will feel the wind of change, which beckoned the fearless wanderers to find out what’s next. Is there an end to this relentless force named “His Majesty the Atlantic”?
We start our day, as it should be in Portugal, with a fresh cup of coffee in the port of Sagres. Then we will visit the Cape of St. Vincent and the Lighthouse, the unchanging guardian whose light warns the ships of dangerous cliffs overhanging the ocean at night. Next, we will visit the fortress, where there are still some fragments of the 43-meter wind rose.
On the way to Lagos, we will see the most beautiful beaches of the Algarve – large, popular with tourists, both medium size and tiny, sandwiched between rocks and cliffs. To reach them is already an adventure. We will stop for lunch – either in a local restaurant where you can taste the regional dishes, in a bar with typical snacks, or have a picnic on the rocky shore with whatever you have brought!
After lunch, we head for Lagos, with sights at every turn. After all, this is the city where the first caravels left for the world of discoveries. It will be exciting, I promise.
The Phoenicians, the Romans, the Muslims and finally the Christians, have all left their mark here through the centuries.

A marvelous view of the whole town opens from the tower of the city castle. From here, you can see the wavy roofs of houses, the domes of churches, the river, and the salt mines, right up to the blue line of the sea on the horizon. The aroma of morning coffee in this place is enticingly unique – it mixes with the scents of exotic plants from the botanical garden hidden in one of the castle’s courtyards.
You can get great pictures with a view of the castle standing on the bridge that has survived since Roman times. The romantic narrow streets decorated with patterned tiles give the city a special charm. On one of these streets, we will visit a cozy restaurant, where we will surely try the local delicacies. Tavira is famous for its dishes of octopus, a delicacy beloved by the Portuguese. It is extremely difficult to prepare, but the locals have mastered the art.
About 3 km from Tavira, we will find the picturesque village of Santa Luzia, named after Santa Lucia, when the local fishers miraculously found a sacred town’s relic lost at sea during a severe storm. Tavira has many fascinating stories.
For example, one of them tells us why the river, only 56 kilometers long, which rises in the mountains and flows into the Ria Formosa, has two names. And the other is about where and why there is a “graveyard” of anchors. Want to hear, see and taste it all for yourself? Then contact me. I adore these places and would happily share that love with you.
The trip is pleasant and exciting. Only 59 km from Faro, we will cross the bridge over the river Guadiana and enter the Ayamonte, the first Spanish border town.
The price includes transfers from the hotel in the eastern part of the Algarve (if the hotel is in the western region of the Algarve + €20), and drinks. Museum entrance fees, lunch, and dinner are not included in the tour price. The price is:
For 1-4 people – €280;
For 5-6 people – €300.
The tours are individual, so there is no strict schedule. Please note that most Spanish restaurants are open from 1 PM to 4 PM for lunch and from 8 PM to 12 AM for dinner.
If you wish to visit some particular places, please let me know at least one day in advance, and I will adjust the itinerary. At any time of the year, remember: Seville, same as the Algarve, has a lot of sun, so sunscreen is a must.
59 km from Faro, having crossed the bridge over the Guadiana, we are already in Ayamonte, the first Spanish border town. Immediately we feel the contrast between the two countries. We will compare these differences along the way.
Entering Seville, you will see the scenery of the “One Thousand and One Nights.” The spirit of the Arab world is still present in the architecture, the customs, and even the sounds. Standing at the foot of the Giralda, it seems you can hear the voice of the muezzin calling the faithful to prayer. Walking through the gardens and courtyards of Alcázar, we anticipate meeting the timid oriental beauty. In Alcázar, Columbus received a blessing from the Spanish monarchs. And the tomb of the famous explorer is nearby in the Cathedral. However, this story is shrouded in secrets and mysteries, more of which I will tell you later.
Let’s walk past the Tobacco Factory, where the gypsy girl Carmen worked. Its impossible to pass by the Golden Tower, without imagining the ships from the New World full of gold. Next, we will visit the beautifully painted Plaza de España, spread out like a huge horseshoe print, the symbol of the always inherently horse-drawn carriage.
The narrow streets of the Jewish Quarter whisper wonderful and tragic love stories. It’s a real mix of Moorish and Christian cultures. At every step, you hear the clatter of castanets and see the mesmerizing Spanish girls dancing Flamenco to the sound of guitars. You will never forget beautiful Seville, and, just like me, you will want to come back here again and again.
What could be better than a fresh cup of Portuguese coffee, drunk on a sunny morning with the sound of the sea? We are in Olhão, a kind of pleasant fishing town.

What could be better than a fresh cup of Portuguese coffee, drunk on a sunny morning, with the sound of the sea? We are in Olhão, a kind of pleasant fishing town. The town’s main attraction is undoubtedly the local fish market, with lots of freshly caught fish from the ocean.
The fishers unload it from the boats right in the port near the market, and the best then comes to the market and local restaurants along the coastline.
We will first enjoy a long walk through the narrow streets and alleys of the neighborhood with its unique cubist architecture and go along the Path of Legends, which snakes from area to area with its lost statues related to the history of Olhão. After that, we will have lunch in one of the typical Olhão restaurants.
Then we will go to Moncarapacho and taste the best olive oil in the world. After that, we will visit olive and flower plantations – not just plantations, but a whole empire built on the dream and perseverance of a baron with Russian roots.
Travelling by boat, we will have the opportunity to get to know some of the islands, beaches and canals and learn a little more about the complex system and beauty of the lagoon.
The price includes transfers from the hotel in the eastern part of the Algarve (if the hotel is in the western region of the Algarve + €20), drinks, and boat rental with a skipper. Museum entrance fees, lunch, and dinner are not included in the tour price. The price is:

For large groups, the cost varies according to the number of tourists.

Chosen as one of the 7 natural wonders of Portugal, Ria Formosa is one of the 3 nature reserves in the Algarve. The lagoon itself consists of five barrier islands and two peninsulas, forming unique landscapes where the light colors of sand, gulls, and cormorants contrast with the bright colors of exotic birds, flowers, and plants.
Nowadays, “birdwatching” is becoming very popular among tourists here. And there’s a lot to see – pink flamingos, whale heads, a purple swamphen, whose plumage is colored in all shades of indigo with a red bill like a turban of the Turkish Sultan. In addition, you can see many other large and small birds, for which special observatories have been built on the territory of Ria Formosa Natural Park.
Traveling by boat, we will have the opportunity to get to know some of the islands, beaches, and canals and learn a little more about the complex system of the lagoon. Then, we will surely go ashore on one of the islands of our choice. It could be the austere Farol Island (Lighthouse), whose waters are rich in iodine so that you can catch a tan in a few minutes. Or the Culatra Island, with its endless dunes and an equally endless and warm beach.
The inexplicable magic of this island will leave you feeling calm and peaceful. The view from the canal to the marina of the Olhão town, with the two red buildings of the municipal market, and the unique cubist structure of the white fishermans houses, merging with the green of the hills, will not leave anyone indifferent. I invite you to this fantastic adventure, solitude with nature.
